" make another kind of bass, I think.... maybe we'll just have to announce something over the weekend"

I vote V68 4001, it would be nice to have a modern checkerboard to go with my vintage ones. It's a good thing that checkered binding wasn't wasted on the 75th's...Image.

Well, read literally, John says "another kind of bass," not something "new," so my guess is the restart on the Cii/5.

I'm hoping this is it as well Paul. I'd like to see a Laredo/5 offered also....I just love the Laredo's treble leanings. Either way I'll be ordering two on Monday! Image A 4004L/8 is a close second on my list. Thanks for the teaser!

(notice that John said "over the weekend" but he didn't say which weekend)

I'm saving up for a 100th Anniversary bass right now. But now I'm all a-twitter with news of something new... Phew! I better fetch my smelling salts- I feel faint! Image

Now that leaves a little bit of room to make another kind of bass

Could it be an acoustic bass based upon the heritage of a 4005. Of course, that's really thinking outside the box.

Dear Mr. Hall,

Thank you for your kind attention about a new RIC bass. Please add one to my 4003DCM order. I promise no snibbling, whining, pissing or moaning,(at least not in print), while anxiously awaiting her arrival. Not fussy on color, but learn toward the quilted look.

Check, cash or credit?

Sincerely, Gary
I'm just happy to be here.

I guess this means RIC is catching up on the backlog....cool!

I hope that part about RIC not taking orders on the FL's isn't true.

I'm DYING for my FL!!!!

Just a thought, how about a 5 string, 4005 type bass with 4002 pickups and V68 appointments like checkered binding, Double bound, FWMOP inlays, grovers, available in FRETLESS.....let's see, anything I missed, OH YES, available in AUTUMNGLO and WALNUT finishes, birds eye maple, dumpster like bass German shoulders, hmmmm.....oh yeah, available in FAT & THIN NECK PROFILES.....THAT shuould make MOST of us happy! Image LOL!
