Make Your Own Light Show?
So John gave us the source for the plastic cover for a LS, and talk was thrown around of using LEDs instead of the higher voltage and hot bulbs of old, and I went searching the internet for color organ boards that used LEDs, and didn't get very far with it and the prices of what I found were inflated.
So Sunday I was looking through the Best Buy ad and lo and behold I see this for $20.
I-CY
So anyone have input on this? I'd think the battery would last quite a while, which eliminates the cord coming back to the instrument to power a LS. Input?
Of course you'd strip out the leds and circuit.

I wanna make a light show..Be cool...
and I'd gladly donate a 4005 for it, but it has to be someone else's as I don't own one...
Is there another bass that can be used?
So hard to find project basses these days too...A mid 70's 4001 carcass seems to go $500-600.

Maybe then, I won't even use a Ric, but I guess that'd defeat the purpose...

I was toying with the Idea of turning a 2030 into a lightshow bass with plastic and led lights a few years ago ...
the nice part about led lights is you can power them with a small battery, they are small, they don't burn out easily, and they don't generate a lot of heat ... also you could do it without routing the wood ...

Just got back from Radio Shack. Had all the stuff except they were all out of 4003s...damn!
Seriously, be cool if we had a few different versions of the LS made up, just for fun..again, the problem is there are no inexpensive Rics out there to play with ..
