Brian May Signature

Post by jsm610 »

Has anyone played the 'new' Brian May Signature guitar - I think its made by Burns, but it doesn't say Burns on the headstock, just Brian's signature. I can't find much about it on-line. Sure does look cool. I saw it in a recent flyer that was mailed to me...

Burns used to make a Red Special replica, but the model is not listed on their website any more.

The new one (I saw it in the latest Musician's Friend catalog) looks like it's a venture by the man himself - or at least has his endorsement. Check this out:

Yup - thats the one I'm talking about. I did read that they're still made by Burns, but maybe I'm confused?

It would make sense for Burns to still be involved, I suppose - but it doesn't look like they are. A bit of googling found this:

http://www.brianmaycentral.net/burns.html

And here, about half-way down the page:

Still no clue as to who is making them now.
