Guitar Stand opinions
I know this is a topic that is hashed over quite a bit. But,,, I'm finally going out a buy a couple of high quality stands to be used exclusively for my RIC basses.
What do you all recommend? Obviously I dont want anything that will damage the finish.
Did I see John Hall recommend "Ultimate" stands? Or was I imagining things? Maybe it was "Hercules"?

I've always liked the Fender Mini Electric Guitar Stand. It's inexpensive ($20) and unobtrusive.

But for home display, I think the best way to go is the wall mount of some kind.

I have two of the Hercules stands and really like them.

I have seven Hercules wall hangers right here in my office (you can imagine just how much serious work gets done in here) and they've done fine for a couple of years. I keep my acoustics in cases with humidifiers, but all my basses and electrics hang on hangers. If it was going to damage them, I'd think I'd have seen it by now. I like them because they pretty much guarantee that I can't accidentally spaz-out and knock one out of it's hanger. I did, however, pitch those silly little drywall anchors that they come with and attach each one to the wall with two 3.5" stainless deck screws into the studs. Standard stud spacing works quite well. I like their stands as well, but have a goofy 106 lb. black lab wandering around. If I don't accidentally knock one over, he will, but in a safer environment I think they'd work great.
