"So you want to be a rock & roll star"
Hi Guys- Perhaps this has been brought up before; ever notice "The Monkees" being said at these times during the song: 1:08, 1:15, 1:19, 1:26, 1:52, & 2:02? We all know of course the song is about the idea of a "Manufactured band", etc. I guess Chris & Roger have denied and confirmed this story at various times, but I would LOVE to hear input here!!! In case any Monkee fans are upset, I'd like to add that Michael Nesmith is my all time favourite vocalist, and one of my fave writers!:D) And of course, "Byrds are best"! Thanks, Christian Bryan

That would be some bonus track, to isolate the concert sounds.
There are some funny audible audience bits on live albums. On the Band's Live at Watkins Glen you can hear someone say, numerous times, "don't just stand there you a**holes, play something!"
I wonder if whoever said that has the album.

This is off the record
It sort of sounds like the "Mon" part is audible after somebody says "Go". Also, while doing the headphone thing, I heard a piano part I'd never realized existed in the left channel of "Have You Seen Her Face". Cool...
I've got an important related question however. What are the spacemen saying exactly at the end of "C.T.A. - 102"?
By the way, what a FANTASTIC LP!

It's deliberate gibberish. The Byrds were just goofing on all the backward loops and psychedelic pretensions that were in vogue at the time. The crashing piano keys were also part of the overall recording experiment, or as Roger McGuinn has said, "sort of a Stockhausen idea."I've got an important related question however.
