It's an AMAZING middle eight, but on the complete rehearsals available as A/B Road (30 cd set or so) you can pretty much hear Paul come up with this, first as a sort of bass fiddling and then as a humming two or three part harmony for a middle eight. I think Lennon came in with this song half finished or so....I;m sure he wrote the words and obvioulsly he SINGS the **** out of it but...

That crazy bass/guitar unison riff underneath the middle eight has Paul's fingerprints all over it, too!
