I might not buy the lenses, but it's made me think - "how much to checker bind my Lightshow Paul?" Image

I've never seen that, either, Graham. It seems to be the season for odd Ricks popping up...

Odd Ricks? My bet is on an old 4006 factory prototype popping up one day for sale on eBay Image

I'm with Paul on this, you'd do it in a heartbeat if you really wanted a LS. I'm also interested in how much those lenses go for.

This was also most interesting: "After an exhaustive search that led across international borders,". My guess is you will have to settle for close, not exact. Or colored. Imagine red on a FireGlo...... or not.

Well, it would be interesting to get a set just for comparison's sake.

Do we know this seller? His website says they refinish vintage guitars (Rics included) and build high-quality replacements for certain pieces of vintage hardware.

Just to be sure, and not that this was my planned project but, since we can get the lights( I got one of dem penguins sitting in my basement, and close enough to the refracting plastic....a 4001 would not be suitable for a light show?

I think any RIC would be a candidate for a light show. Remember how small LED's are and that they put out almost no heat. A dedicated circuit board for this purpose would only need to be about half an inch thick. I ordered some of this plastic from Paul just to have it knowing it's possible on a 4003 or a 620.

Hmmm....Would be interesting to put together...Might have just the bass for it, if a 4001 works..

I also think a 2000 or 3000 series bass would be good for this too. Either of those would have the 4005 LightShow look going for them. Hmmmm...
