"Please excuse my Rickenbacker ignorance for a second here...
A friend of mine is selling a Rickenbacker 325. He said that "the knobs need work" ... which leads me to believe that some of the electronics might need replacing or work.
I asked him what he was thinking he wanted for it, and he said $300. Wow.

He said that it was "a replica of John Lennon's model 325." The only problem is I have no idea which of 3 or 4 different replica models it is. I can borrow it from him, though, and I will hopefully be able to find out then.

Considering that some of the electronics might need to be repaired/replaced, is $300 a really good price for ANY model 325? It sorta seems like a steal."

he also posted on the gear page. I told him that if his friend is willing to part with it for 300 bucks, chances are he didn't pay much more for it, chances are it's a fake, don't buy.

Sounds like a great deal if all it has is electrical issues.

Seems any 325 is $1000+.
I'm just happy to be here.

Well, keep in mind how many people sell guitars way, way below their value because they don't care to look into what they've got. Hard to do, nowadays, though.

If that's the one, 13" is a little short to be a 325 - Replica is right!
