Donald Fagen - The Nightfly. For drums, Smashing Pumpking Gish is one of the best recordings of all time. Also, Alan, please never mention Madonna on the Rickenbacker Forum ... ever. ;)

Who said ABBA? They're one of my all-time favorite bands.... every time I hear an ABBA song I am instantly transported back to my childhood. I loved their music then, and I still do, although now I only listen to them when my husband is out of town, or he threatens to use the CD for shotgun practice, LOL!

Steve, I hear you on the Madonna thing.... ick!

Great recordings? Anything that Tom Jung recorded on his DMP label. My personal favorites are the Flim & The BBs CDs.

Or for some good cerebral fun...

Brian Eno.

Another Green World, Here Come the Warm Jets, Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy...

Or with other bands like Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, "My Life In The Bush of Ghosts" with David Byrne...

Just a recording genius.

Agreed. Eno stuff is very listenable, despite what preconceptions people may have about his stuff.
How much!?!
