"If only Jagr had played this way when he was in Washington. Jerk. "

I believe he had comparable scoring numbers in those years...just no one around to help him!

2001-2002 WAS 69games 31 goals 48A 79 pts
2002-2003 WAS 75games 36 goals 41A 77 pts
2006-2007 NYR 82games 30 goals 66A 96 pts

but last year the guy was a monster, no doubt.

Whoops... my bad! I was reading results and press for the Devils/Lightning OT thriller while typing. Bad, bad fan!!

The Rangers thrashed the Thrashers. And the sports press goes wild!

Peter, that is hilarious! Thanks for sharing.

I have to share this one I heard just before the Leafs knocked us out:

Why do people in Toronto drink coffee from mugs?
Because all the cups are in Montreal.

Trust me, Steve, numbers don't tell the whole story. Coaching and chemistry have a lot to do with it.

Speaking of chemistry, is there a more in-sync duo that Jagr and Nylander?

Love it!! Image

Mike, I'm a big Jagr fan, trust me, I know the Washington years were grim despite the numbers.

I gather that Jagr never wanted to be there and made sure that everyone on the Caps and everyone on their coaching staff/front office knew it.

I think they still pay a big chunk of his salary.

Just finished watching the Wings / Flames game.

I'm almost physically Ill.

I am SO SICK of watching the Wings get outworked and out-hustled by their opponents. I watch their opponents lay down and block shots while the Wings flamingo in front of them. Of watching overpaid, unmotivated players like Robert Lang contribute NOTHING. Watching the other team get to every loose puck...It just frustrates me so much!!

Well we (Canucks) won a hard fought game 7 played by two very good teams.

Look out Ducks, I smell a barbecue warming up at the Pond. Image

Which means we now get the Sharks. Ugh.
That was a great game last night, Brian!

I agree Steve about it being a great game. The series was very close. Turco and Luongo both deserve awards for their contributions to their respective teams. I am glad that we emerged victorious.

The Sharks are a very good team with yet another great goaltender. That will make for an interesting second round series.

I suppose that I should admit that Detroit has always been my backup team in case the Canucks falter and fall, so as a result of that choice I follow the team quite closely.

I thought the Canucks outclassed Dallas last night, at least in the first and third -- great game!

I'm happy to see Sharks and Ducks both "easily" through the first round. What a Western Conference final it would be to see those two teams work it out. I still see Ducks v. Sabres in the final, so don't count yer...uh...chickens...yet, Brian!

Heh, and Steve you can now sit back and watch the Sharks outwork the Wings ;-)

...and out-hit, out-score, out-stickhandle, out-last. How old is Chelios now - 45?
