What type of strap is this?

Post by firstbassman »

Anyone recognize this kind of strap? Know its brand name or generic term?
I like the way it's more secure over the strap button than just a loose slit in leather.
But I don't remember where I bought it and I can't read any of the possible letter molded into the plastic. Thanks!

It's a Rogue "Locking Guitar Strap". Musician's Friend had them, but I don't know if they still do. They have also been offered on eBay at times.

From what I gather, Rogue is one of those companies that builds cheap copies of popular guitars. The strap is one of the accessories they offer. The plastic ends look like something most likely built by ITW Nexus, Fastex or one of the other companies that produce plastic buckles for backpacks, dog collars, etc. but I don't recall seeing them listed separately anywhere.

Yup - MF - I've got a couple of them - really handy for a quick change - I don't gig with them but works well in a pinch.

Isn't Rogue Musician's Friend's private label?
