A big THANK YOU to all....

I just want to say a few things now about the 2nd Fest, now that it's in the books...

To everyone who made it out for the weekend at POTR, I owe a debt of gratitude.....For it is the love of the Rickenbacker marque that each one of you have that gives you the motivation to come to the Fest with many beautiful(and some unique)instruments for others to see and learn about...and, not in the least, to also get to know one another to a certain degree.

I would like to think that for all who attended, we all came away from it with more than when we got there...new friendships made, old friendships revisited, and not lastly more Rickenbackers to look at than most nervous systems can handle.

From an idea that Don Cooksey had about 2 years ago has grown once again to another successful weekend of fellowship and Rickenbacker overload.

Chris Clayton and his girlfriend Shelby are to be highly commended, it was(literally) their corner of the world that we invaded, and they kept us fed and snacked....and feeling like we were at home. You guys are the best.

Dave Pascoe is DA MAN. As fest attendees we were allowed to live LARGE thanks to Dave's hospitality, and wore the reigns of the MARF II Goodwill Ambassador effortlessly. Thanks Dave for taking care of us as well as bringing the usual MUTHALOAD of fine Rickenbackers...too cool.

In a nutshell, IMHO I thought it went great, fantastic, all of those expressions that you can apply to describe a happy time.

Just remember though that it's not a FEST without the PEOPLE and the Ricks they have.

We had a FEST once again. Cheers to all of you, and many thanks again.

The whole weekend was just perfect! As I mentioned in an e-mail to Kevin Teed, we all though about nothing but the sadness we all felt that he couldn't be there.

Well, maybe we did. Maybe not. Everyone I got to know were great, the Rickness of it all was pretty overwhelming, and by far, the poeple there is what made the event a success. Even breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning were just as enjoyable as we gathered over out Hamptoneggssaugagemuffins and juice or coffee. We even came up some names for future events in other parts of the US, such as GLARE, FARTS and AARP, yet to be organized and convened.

Oh, big time thanks to Chris for letting us bombard his store, John,John and Dave(another kudos to Dave) for all going above and beyond the call of duty getting all the people down to enjoy and share these great moments.

There can't be too many internet message boards that get this many great people together

IIRC, the final count on instruments present was 136!!! That was for Saturday. More showed up on Sunday, including a Jetglo 4001C64 and a Jetglo 4001C64S, and an April '66 4005WB, among some other early '70s instruments, I believe.

Next year I will have to schedule time to make it back East for the next Rick Fest and I'll bring some of my special guitars. Glenn Wall has opened his home for me to stay at and show me the City. Cheers to all who went this year and had such a great time...Nothing compares to good friends and Rickenbackers....

It was great to meet all of you this past Saturday at MARF II, and I wish I could have been there all weekend!

I am already thinking about taking off a couple of weeks and trying cross-country driving for SoCal 2007 - simply because I don't know how else to safely transport enough Ricks without risking airline damage to them. With RAS in full swing, it may be the only option by then

And if I ever have to go through any dealer for anything, I will call Chris first - those guys were great to host this! Almost as great as the Forumites who set this all up and did such hard work to make it happen! Thanks to all

I really enjoyed this past weekend! The instruments were amazing (I couldn't stop gawking at "The Wall"...you know the one I mean...) and it was great to meet everyone and finally put some faces to names. Many thanks to John, Dave, Chris, and everyone else involved in organizing and executing this year's MARF. You guys are a class act!
