prs nickel corrosion
I've been away from the list lately. I miss you kids. I hope y'all are all doing great. I did a search on this, but I haven't quite found the answer.
A friend of mine bought a PRS last year and he is complaining that all the pickup covers and nickel parts are corroding rapidly. It isn't like he's a sweat monster and I know he doesn't play it a lot. Are there good things to: 1) clean off the schmutz? and 2) protect the nickel to avoid it in the future?
Thanks.

Wecome back, Mark. Maas metal polish should do the job; I found in the current postings the following meager reference to its use:

I have used Maas and it is indeed great.

Thanks Gary. You are a better searcher than I. I got the first one, but not the rest of them. I have forwarded the list of links to my buddy, who will obsessively read every word and then probably buy all the recommended products.

Mark, Peter has changed the site a bit during your absence. In order to view the For Sale and Wanted threads, you will need to Log In (link under Utilities in the left frame):

Yes, but Gary can just hop in the TARDIS.

Heh. The fumes are getting to us again!
My friend is really happy with the Maas stuff. he said it did the trick without requiring much effort and now his PRS metal is all shiny.
FYI: I'm such a geek that I know what TARDIS stands for. I don't know if that should make me happy or sad. I choose happy.

Right. I bet it would help someone out in a "nerd fight" on Telos in 2048, throwing into an argument with the Cybermen about the relative strengths of the Daleks or the Sontarans. (Did anybody else wonder if the Sontarans tasted like potatoes? And if you could actually get pepper out of a Dalek, would it be really good pepper that you could use on a cooked Sontaran?)
Whoa, I need to go find a pocket protector and some polyester pants.
