.... California Dreamin is probably one of the best cover songs that I've heard, maybe even better that The Mamas & The Papas' original.

BTW, be sure to take note of the Beach Boy @ the 1:25 mark.

Someone made a comment on YouTube that the video was made not too long after Dennis Wilson died, but I always thought Roger was playing a 370/12RM in the video which would make it post 1987-88....must be one of his earlier Rickenbackers.....

Anybody recognize the preacher? He looks familiar, but I can't put a name to the face. As soon as I saw him, Gary Usher came to mind for some reason, but it's been 35 years since I last saw him or a photo of him and he certainly didn't look like that back when I knew him. I'm thinking it must be somebody else that I'm just spacing out on.

If not, that was John Phillips, the (“co”-)writer of the song.

No, I was serious, he looked familiar, but I don't think I ever happened to see a photo of him as one of us old guys and somehow just didn't make the connection. The mind is one of the first things to go.....

Todd, I noted JP's appearance in my post but didn't mention that he was the preacher. Sorry for thinking that it was obvious that the preacher was John.
