Woke up with this image in my head....
...a standard 4005 in DCM with the beautiful gold pickguard and TRC. Also with the check binding on the back and soundhole. And I could see it vividly.
Now that would be a beautiful looking bass.
I would like to see a 4005WB in that color as well with the check binding but this brings up a good question. Is there a way to do check binding on a WB/OS instrument? I know about the top tail end binding coming out of an angle and exposing some funny looking pattern but maybe there is some creative way of doing it?

IMO Edgar, you made the right decission...As for resale value and originality. It will be a great looking and awesome sounding Bass. 1 thing you might consider, Gold pickguard and Truss Rod Cover to go with your stock white ones, since they can be replaced easily and would look very nice against the BBR finish.....
Got to hand it to you Paul, that closeup of your '60 Capri is gorgeous.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
