Whats up with all the 60's 4005's for sale?

Post by rickaddict »

Are you guys sure these things are rare?! It seems that every time one sells on Ebay, another one pops up! Sometimes they're on Ebay two at a time!

This one has really nice wood.

Well, have you seen what some have been selling for? They're all creeping out of the woodwork now.

That's a nice one with that '67 FG, but Jeff's right, you see one every week for sale!

Rare...try finding a '67 4001 Deluxe.

Yep, '67 was THE year for the 4005's. Is there even a '67 4001 deluxe out there? All i've got to go by is the Smith book and the '67 records are oddly missing.

Nice, juicy pictures!Image
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

With so long to go this is just nuts, or shilling to get the price up there. The other 4005 is sitting at over $7000 with the reserve still not met

"...shilling to get the price up there."

Given the profiles of the bidders, it isn't shilling.

Hmm, one of those profiles looks like mine...

Hard to tell with the new privacy policy in place for bidders, although I'm sure you'd recognise your own.

Mine's on the block because of 2 things:

1) some debt that I need to clear
2) selling my 4005 will clear it all

DAMN!!! Really wish I didn't have to do this!
