Cool AFG 650

Here's one effect of the Amber Fireglo finish that I hadn't anticipated: how it looks on the maple fretboard of the 650 Colorado:

This guitar is currently for sale at the Music Zoo in Queens, NY.

Doesn't look at all ambered to me. The Music Zoo also have a 330/12 that they say is regular FG and it's clearly AFG.

EDIT: On second look, the fretboard does look ambered. I thought they were unfinished on the 650s (??)

Finished fretboard on the 650C. On mine, at least.

Yep, 650C's are sprayed with varnish. The Sierra and Dakota have the oil finish.

That 650C AFG was so cool looking with the amber on the fretboard. There was some debate as to whether or not to keep it on there like that or to rework it without the amber. I really thought looked great on it.

Ben, just out of curiosity, have you guys ever considered making a 650 with fewer than 24 frets?

Never talked about it as far as I remember.

Is this guitar STILL for sale? I'm pretty sure we only made like two or three in this color and we ain't making any more!

For a comparison here are some shots of my '04 650C FG. There is a big difference in the fret board color.

It now sports toasterized high gains. Note this is a flash pic so the color is washed out.

I see that one of our local Rick dealers, Huber & Breese, has a AFG 650C recently delivered according to the RIC site.

I did not take offense at your post.
All I meant was when a 650 is mentioned I think of a 650c.
