Hollow body double neck bass/guitar
I foolishly passed up on a Hollow body Rick double neck bass/guitar in the `1980's and bought a mint 1968 340 instead for $1,000 less. What model was that? Was it a custom 4005 model? Was it a factory custom or prototype? Haven't seen one since.

Welcome Bob.
The 4080 was a doubleneck bass/guitar, but it's solid.
The 362/12 is a hollowbody, but it's a 12 string and 6 string guitar.
There is some kind of custom/prototype one in Richard Smith's book with a 6 string guitar on top and a 4 string bass on the bottom. It has a slash soundhole. The bass neck only has 16 frets. I don't have time to scan it but maybe there's a picture floating online somewhere?

No, it wasn't a solid body, it was a maple glo, moon f hole combo bass and guitar . Thought it was nice because of the light weight for a double neck bass. Can't remember if it was round edged or square edged, I think it had toaster pickups, was in faIRLY mint shape. I don't think it was from the 1960's, seemed more like a 1970's prototype or pre-sales guitar show model.
No, I'm not "Rob", I have seen him and met him and did tech for a local show once, but see my bass playing here, it will prove I'm not him!! (Vox bass, Rick guitar though):

Hear me playing my Rick 340 in the 1980's here, you can hear it best on the solo near the end:

Is there still a photograph of that somewhere on the web? I remember seeing it once (perhaps even on this forum), but I can't find it now.
