Thank you Jeffrey. I enjoyed jamming with the basses. You and Mark at the same time. But with all those players and guitars there it appears we missed an opportunity to play "The Chord" on as many 12's that were available simultaneously. Guess there's always next year.

A few of us did it, Dave - though not on a scale that could have been achieved! We ended up playing the whole song - Mark on bass, me on 12 string, and Jdog on 6 string.

Mark and I both did the solo - me on 12'er, him on 8 string bass. It sounded pretty darn cool.

Yes John. I remember that now. I was in the main room at the time and heard the solo. The 8 string really filled it out... kinda like having the piano track also. Pretty cool.

And that one didn't get filmed? That would have been something to hear.

Finally checking in after a week of slapping myself in the mouth. Thanks JB for calling it out on the Pit...

Damn did I wanna go. I wanted to meet you guys in the worst of ways... and I see there were some Ricks there too. Image But... like they're known to do... my VW puked a rather spendy intake hose and shot my travel budget in the arse LAST FRIDAY. I was close to just surrendering my Saab to the wifey and coming anyway... but in the interest of marital goodness I sucked it up and fixed the frickin' car. Great hubby... BAD forumite. Image

I truly wish I coulda been there and I've been laying low for the past week ****** at myself... but that's why I didn't make it out. Add that one to the eternal regret file... Image Image Image

I don't care if I have to walk to wherever, I'm making it next year...
What do you mean the Bass is too loud???

Great thread, great pics. So many beautiful, beautiful Rics (and some nice "others" too - lovin' that Alembic Series Elys! And nice Zon Jeffrey!).

I second Sheena though; I know some faces (Jeffrey, Mark, John, Brian), guessed a couple of others (Elys, Ben), but it would be nice to identify some of those left.

I wish I could get to these things!!! That's just another bad thing about being in the UK I guess.Image

Hey Biscuti & J-dog - That Hard Day's Night jam was pretty dang cool, I have to admit! It was really cool laying down some basslines for you, too, Dave.

I have a few videos from the "jamming" but haven't had time to post them on youtube as of yet. I have one of Jdog and John B. playing the acoustics sitting in the floor. I have one of Jeffrey, Mark and John Simmons playing a YES song and another of Jeffrey playing a solo but I don't know what it is. I'll try to get to it later tonight or tomorrow. I've never posted on youtube before so I'll have to figure it out.

John, I think thats the shade from the picture. Paul's bass had the fireglo stripped from the entire guitar, headstock included.

Well its a week later and I finally figured out how to get on here... Just a note to everyone to say that I had a great time last weekend. Everyone was very kind and helpful when it came to answering all of my questions. I had more fun than I anticipated and increased my vocabulary by at least five new terms.. Who knew I would have so much fun. Thanks to everyone that was there...Don't tell Steve (Ben) but I am looking forward to going again (he's gonna read this isn't he?? oh well) Hope to get video's on Youtube soon.. keep watching.
May you always work like you don't need money;
May you always love like you've never been hurt;
and may you always dance like there's nobody watching.
