. . . I was under the impression the V63s did not have a dot on the 19th fret as regular S models do, but my '97 V63 Fireglo has it:

What's up with that?

Paul,
I just checked pics of my two previous 1992 v63's, neither had the 19th Dot fret ..

BTW, gorgeous Fireglo

It will make it that much harder for you to explain to the Great Unwashed (if you ever did decide to sell it) that it really is a legit minty V63 Image

So, when the time comes, just sell it to ME and I will "Understand" Image Image

At least we still know that if it does NOT have the 19th fret dot, that it comfortably can be considered a V63. I am counting on that for the quite-minty 1998 V63 that I just bought for only $1650 tonight Image It definitely does not have the 19th-fret dot.

Paul, I would just have the dot removed. Should be a simple reversible mod.

Geez, Dave with his 4003 and checkerboard binding, you with your 19th fret dot..

You guys are too much...yeah and I got a Shadow in Sea Green..

Beautiful Paul.

Under the watchful eye of a trusted tree, 'tis the lingering light of a new morn that gently caresses the rarest of Rickenbackers. Truly a fireglo moment rarely encountered in the wood.

Thanks, Peter. The last two years, I have photographed my collection under the big Silver Maple in our back yard. I wait for the wildflowers there to bloom and conditions to be right. That will come in a couple of weeks, and I'll photograph the Mink bass and the DCM to join the others.
