Mandy Moore did an album of covers a few years back that was actually pretty good - she covered XTC's "Senses Working Overtime" and Todd Rundgren's "Can We Still Be Friends" among others.

I’ll agree that MM is not terrible and is preferable to certain other, panty-less, pop tarts.
But the cover of a songwriters’ magazine?
