What model Höfner bass is this?

The body shape is similar to that of a 500/6 but the f-holes are similar to those on a Jazzica guitar. I looked on a couple of websites but couldn't find the model number/designation for this (could be an oddball from the Selmer era).

Is it not a Verithin?

I'm not as up on Hofners as I should be.

It's cute though.

Here is a Verithin guitar. The body appears to be the same as the bass.

It's a 500/7 Verithin. Looks like the pickups and surrounds have been replaced with vintage reissue type 511 off a 500/1 or 500/2.

It may have also been refinished.

Thanks guys. Odd that it has dot markers instead of the Verithin's block markers, though.

Sorry I made a typo, it's a 500/6 which has dot markers. The 500/7 has the bar type neck markers.

I have a very nice colour photo of what you're bass originally looked like that i'll share with you Gary if you email me.

Jon, it's not mine, just one I saw for sale. I think that I saw some similar pics on the websites I visited, but all the examples had the traditional "violin f-hole" instead of the cat's eye.

Anyone familiar with the reissue Hofner 500/2 Club Bass?

At close to $2000 bucks it seems pricey, but it gets high marks on Harmony Central.
