I'm a lefty, but determined to learn to play righty at an early age after I saw how rare lefty guitars were in dealerships--in CHICAGO.

So I play (guitar and bass) righty. On piano, however, I'm a lefty. Because of this, I have several electronic keyboards which I've converted over, by switching the key contacts. An easy matter, really...this is even easier on digital equipment.

Here's a quote from our old buddy H.S. Thompson, on the music biz:

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs.

There's also a negative side."
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

I think Jeff R uses that as his quote in his profile!

Marc, Jeff, Dave and Ted: I'm very sorry to hear all of this Image I do hope that a DCM comes your way at some stage in the future.

I'm actually in Chicago for a conference - I usually take time out to look around for Ricks (especially now given the exchange rate). CME is but a few streets away, but I shall not set foot in there on principle. A small but heartfelt protest.

Anywhere else I should go?
enough, already.

Hey Paul, I'm to freakin old to start over. So I must live in a state of confusion. See, I'm right handed my friend and play bass lefty and upside down.LOL. I do feel for Marc, Jeff, Dave and Ted, If it had been me, I would be face to face with someone and I would have my S--t kicking boots on. LOL

PaulB offered a little earlier in the thread to keep a private record of all the DCM (well 4003 at least) serial numbers.

I personally think this is a good idea and will be of great potential use in the future to help keep track of who has what and where. This could also prove to be a valuable tool to prevent the potential fraud that JH outlined with DCM fakes.

You are a good man Jim Glen. Don't keep your pics to yourself on account of me. Please post away. Maybe a DCM will come my way some day.

Ted, I know where one is, but it will cost you $4500. There is another one that I know of that will cost $4600. At least one of these I know to be for sale right now, the other one may still be too.

Hey Jim,

Glad to hear all worked out well. That's good information to know. When a dealer goes above & beyond, everyone should know!

SO, how do you like the feel, the sound? Is she going to be a player? Most of all, ENJOY!

Hi Tony,
Thanks, she feels lovely, and I'd say the neck is slimmer than my 96 4003, and maybe the same or a little slimmer than my 92 v63's.

The Ric factory strings sound really nice, and she sounds like a choir of Angels. The selectable cap bypass is really neat. The only thing I need to do is lower the action a little, and then let her name come to me.

She'll be a player, as all my Ric's have been, although my 4003 is as good a condition as the day I received her.

I was very impressed by Parkway and I would use them again.

I received my second one from Parkway. They were very good to deal with. This one will being going up for sale...probably. I shouldn't have opened it up. Now I'm having second thoughts.

He'll inherit the first one. Heck, he'll probably talk me out of it. He is trying to get me to give up my 4004Ci. If I sell the bass, I can buy him a 4003. We'll see.

My son isn't too interested in my basses.

I guess I get to take them with me.
