Well, give in to her charms - now!
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

The charms of any other bass pale to nothingness, in comparison to the charms of Jaclyn ......... Image

Were the late 70's good years for the 4001? It is pretty.

Rickenbackers are like Single Malts, they're all good, some are just better than others !

My first 4001FG was a '78, great sound (even with cap), heavy axe, but easy to kill with Kramer round wounds(neck-fingerboard separation) as I did not know anything about Ricks those days. My '74 4001FG now is much lighter, taking every r(p)oundwounds with out any neck bow, also the sound is better in my opinion (memory), but this may be attributable to the better amps nowadays.
