V63 Finishes

Post by 86kubicki »

I believe that V63's were originally available only in Mapleglo and Fireglo. Does anyone know when RIC opened up V63's to the full line of finishes?

It seems like it happened around '99 or '00 - same with the 360v64's.

There is an occasional Jetglo earlier than that. I've seen 'em as early as '91.

But the Turq, Mid and SeaGreen(obviously, Steve! Image ) were all post-98.

Thanks Jeff! According to Mike Park's timeline, the following were available as normal production finishes around '98-99:

Mapleglo
Fireglo
Jetglo
Mid Blue
Turquoise
Red
White

Has anyone ever seen (or heard of), a V63 in either Red or White?

I wish I had. A white V63 would be killer..

I have seen companion pieces to the v63 - that is, 325v59, 325v63, and 360/12v64 - in white and red. Never a v63 though!

Never seen one, but I think a red or a white 4001V63 would be really sharp.

Somehow, somewhere along the way I got sour on black hardware and plastic. But I think the V63's chrome hardware and white plastic would be really nice against red or white.

You trying to get a full set, Steve?!

I did seriously consider Brain's Mid Blue V63 a few months ago, but couldn't swing it at the time. Did that one stay within the Forum?

I don't think it did, Steve.

I had a new '89 V63 in Jetglo. In a story I've repeated here before, I traded it back in the mid 90s to a local guy who stripped it to natural, albeit a good job. I could have murdered him. I then ended up getting it back and using it a few more years before trading it away for good. So somewhere out there is what someone thinks is a Mapleglo when in reality, it's my old Jetglo!
