Yeah! I was not on a fast connection when I found the links this weekend - I just downloaded them and wow!

It was fun, I was thinking at the time how it would have been to have a couple more people back there to cover all the parts in the original track....something to think about for the next one!

Man, we gotta start streaming these events for all who cannot make it. Elys?

Damn Jeff, you really had that old 4005 barking on the "fish" jam!

Very impressive on all the Jam clips.

Praise to all!

It is easy, John! The only limiting factor is how much bandwidth you have in the Internet connection from the actual event site. Good compressed video can be had with only a 128 kb/s stream, so all you need is a good fast cable or DSL connection at the site that is rated for at least 256kb/s or more outbound. That is sometimes a problem, as most connections are asymmetrical, with the higher speed incoming and the lower speed outgoing. Streaming video requires high speed outgoing, not incoming...

Heck, I have cameras and encoders here in spades, I could just toss them into a spare case or two and include them with the truckloads of Ricks Image The Real Helix server fits on a good laptop running Linux, and then FireWire or USB 2.0 it to the camera(s).
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and sit in with the band whenever you can, to keep your chops up!

OK, alright, OK, I get it! I will get my pointy cap and go sulk in a corner for awhile. While you read my entire post out loud to the rest of the class.

Heh, I'll just grab a Rick and take it over to the the corner with me while I am waiting. Eventually you guys will come around and want to play again Image

No corner needed, Elys. I just wish we'd thought of streaming before the MARF get-together. Can you imagine a wifi cam roving around being streamed?!

Hey Jeff -

How's the pic processing coming? Any word on how Chris is doing with the site?

Aaaah, Monterey...

I suppose it would be counter-productive for me to ask for pics!

I am making lots of pics around here at the moment. We spent most of the day today at the south end of Point Lobos at China Cove and overlooking Bird Island, and also at Garapata Beach. The water is just incredible.

May you always work like you don't need money;
May you always love like you've never been hurt;
and may you always dance like there's nobody watching.
