Elys- Oh, no I was just making a joke about drinking cleaning products. I think I might put the Zymol over a bowl of ice cream, though
John- I can't wait to sit down and polish both of 'em up. The 77 has a couple dents in it from a previous owner, but I'm still looking forward to shining it up. It deserves it, after being so obviously neglected for so long.
Actually the preferred procedure is wiping the guitar down with Windex to remove dirt and grime. Then repeat the cleaning with lighter fluid(naptha). You'll be amazed of the dirt and grime that's removed. Then use the Scratch-X to remove fine scratches and to polish. Don't expect quick miracles. It takes a lot of elbow grease to get it right. Work on small areas at a time. Repeat this step as needed to achieve your desired results. Finally break out the Zymol to bring out the lustre and shine. You'll be amazed at the difference. Zymol is water based so layer after layer can be built up to make a mirror like shine!
