3000/3001 Tuning/keywind wanted or just the cog
Hi all I'm after a vintage/old tuning peg or keywind or even just the cog bit, for a Rickenbacker 3000/3001? one of the cogs has come off one of the tuners and it needs replacing with either a whole tuning peg or just the cog bit. Thanks

Hi Jeff, yes it is just the gear\wheel part I require. Please could you let me know if you do have one and how much you want for it? I live in UK so would really appreciate it if you would be prepared to post it here? My email address is [email protected] and my cell phone number is (outside UK) +44 7813733828 or 07813733828 inside UK.
Thanks
Thanks

Yeah, I've got one of those. And now it's yours, Gunnar. I'm not using the part, and I could use a little bit of good karma. You might want to clean a little tarnish off of it. Or maybe it'll match the others left as is. You pay the postage. I'll email you for your address.

I'm not very good with the 3000/3001/2001 series. If it is a mid to late 70's Rick, then I have the correct part(Nickel-plated open-backed Kluson-type reverse tuner). If it is an 80's Rick with the chrome Schaller tuners then I don't.
The spare tuner parts I have were removed from a '77 4001.
I thought the 3000/3001 were the 70's version of that bass, but you would know better than I would, Jeff as I know you have owned at least a couple of them.
Am I wrong?

that is a 1993 2020 ... pictured here with a 1986 2030 ...
the 86 2030 has a neck that has the narrowest nut of any Ric bass ... it also has single coil pickups ... the 93 2020 has the same pickups as the 4004cii5 and the same neck profile as a 4004 bass ... they are both bolt on neck with a massive maple body that has a shape very similar to the 3000/3001 bass ...
the 2000 series basses have the modern truss rods and can take 5 strings ...
with the massive kahler bridges and massive maple bodies these babies sustain all day ...

Hi again, just to avoid any confusion I have sent Jeff a pic of the tuners on my current Rick 3000. I believe the others are the same. If I'd have thought I should have taken a picture of the tuner with the cog missing, but the guitar is currently at the luthier's. However, if needs be I could get a picture.I couldn't get the picture on the forum because it says it is too big. Thanks Tim
