4001CS

Post by jps »

This is an interesting comment from a recent interview with Chris:

"There are no concrete plans for more Chris Squire Limited Edition Rickenbacker basses but I did receive an e-mail from the CEO of Rickenbacker, John Hall, who mentioned that - just possibly - the limited run serial numbers stopped at 899 and then went to 1000 so they might be 100 short"

OH NO.

I seriously doubt that RIC would reintroduce the CS after the series was closed (even if they didn't produce the full 1000).

I have the #5 in the series of 900 then. I would rather keep it that way. No need for more CSs

The Glen Fry signature was under produced from what was advertised as well, IIRC.

If RIC wants to make another hundred of them, I say go for it! It wouldn't alter how much I love owning # 867 one bit at all.

IF they do, I hope they use the 4004 headstock shape this time, one of the best ever, imho.

I'd be happy to get #900, or 901, or 902, or...... Image

Oh Boy! Better watch the Boss doesn't come in here with a big stick!

Mr. Hall, I want you to know I told that troublemaker Scott not to do it. It's those 4005 players, always causing trouble. Like using up wood, time and resources to build them instead of proper 4001's!
I'm just happy to be here.

I like my CS just fine. I'd rather the GF instead. Image

I would guess that John could sell another 2 or 3 hundred 4001CS models at a list of $3,999.

Hah! That'd really pull the rug out from under the current inflated price would'nt it?
