Exhibition pics...

Post by tony_carey »

A few pics from my exhibition preview evening tonight.....this was before the guests arrived. I know that the forum is not about self publicity & this is not intended to be, but I think it is fair to let forum members know where my time has been spent, instead of completing the forum CD (please delete this thread Peter if you feel the need to....totaly understand). Even a small exhibition like this has taken an incredible amount of time. I had 18 canvases on display & this, combined with the promotion that an exhibition entails, has taken an enormous amount of work & planning. A great time was had by all though & now I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders!

Congrats on the exhibition and I wish you the best possible success with your 'new' career. Just don't drop the 'old' one completely, eh?? Image

I have two of Tony's Rickenbacker paintings--one of a model RM1997, and the other of my '60 Capri, which I commissioned him to paint, and both are exquisite. I'm in the process of framing and choosing a place to hang them in our small cottage, but as soon as I do, I'll post pics..

Tony is terrific to work with, and he is very communicative, personable and detail-oriented. I'm proud to say I have a couple of Carey originals!

I agree with the sentiments posted here. Your works are superb Tony.

Thanks everyone, your comments are very much apreciated.

There's no question of dropping the old career Howard, I'm dropping the bits of it I don't like! Looking forward to seeing yours in situ Paul & your comments are very kind, thankyou.

I was really feeling the pressure with getting everything ready for this (I started before Christmas), as well as trying to do the forum CD, but like I said, I feel like a weight has been lifted from me now. Monday, I'm wiring a section of the studio up & then it's the CD!!!

It's time now to come back into the fold....

In art and music, as in life, it is not colours that you use but how you use them.

Your integrity and genuineness shines through in all that you do.

I hope your exhibition was a success. I feel honoured to have been given a "first look" before the event. We can all say that we opened for you.

Finally, it is not possible to come back to a fold from which you never left. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations Tony and THANKS for SHARING!

Maybe someday, like Jingle Jangle, I'll have a Carey original.

I might add that, even with devaluation of Bush Bucks, Tony's work is very amicably priced...

How dare I bring thoughts of commerce into this fine art discussion?

Was alcohol served ? It looks like bottles could be stored in those white cabinets. Looks great, Tony, I like the colors.

I'm loving the small landscape below the classical guitar painting.

Nice work, Tony.

You are all so kind, I can't thank you enough.

Commerce Paul...shudder the thought! Thanks for the plug though....Image

Yes Steve, alcohol WAS served, particularly to me.

Noel, the landscape that you are referring to is actually a limited edition print.
