My 1972 4001 finally arrived

Post by brycycle »

for those who were following this purchase in the "for sale" section know what an ordeal it was to get this bass from the owner. quick overview:

upped his asking price $700 over what he originally listed it for, flaked around hoping for better offers/more money before committing to the deal, took 5 weeks to ship it. but it is here and that's what counts. all original, unmolested. a little rough cosmetically, but plays beautifully.

Well I'd say by the pics that you definitely got your money's worth. It would've been worth the wait too if you'd have known it was gonna be that long.

Bryce - I say it was worth the wait, fully realizing the wild-*** journey you took emotionally. Really nice shape for the age too. Congrats!

thanks John, and all. luckily i was more stressed about a thesis defense at the time...took my mind off it.

yeah, it cleaned up nicely after arriving quite dirty. nothing a little Scratch-X/Zymol could improve.
