Why would one have to sell an amp that can model a Fender? Could the band have some sort of promotional tie to Fender and thus forced to use Fenders (and what about the guitars, drums, etc.? And what music are they doing that would be so limiting that only one brand of amp would do the job?

Well..it might just be a way of "not saying" that he does not like the amp or....maybe he's on the level..in our band "period correct " gear is mandatory both in terms of sound and stage looks...

Who knows? There could be one member, acting as the head honcho, who thinks all Fenders are cool, and the band is to have all Fender amps. Or like George said, it's just his way of saying he wants to dump it, discreetly.

A lot of 'nobody' bands have deals with Fender and Gibson, etc, where they get meager discounts on gear if they only use that brand for any piece of gear the company makes (i.e.: excluding drums, mic's, etc.)

Does the keyboard player get to play a Jan Hammer keytar thing? You know that nothin' says surf like a giant Mellotron.

That made me wonder if Dick Dale's keyboard players had to play pianos or clavinets with really heavy strings.

our keyboard..Korg CX-3, has somewhat the look of the era with the faux wood and has the sound..
