Brammy: I didn't know Heston played bongos on 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun'. I'm fairly certain that he played the cow bell on 'Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey'. And I think it's his voice saying, "Turn me on dead man" if you play the record backwards. Nobody plays guitar like Ringo!

All of the Beatles were actually Chuck Norris.
Here is where I hide my music:

Chuck Norris hates The Beatles; two to go.

Looky here, fellers...fun is fun, but let's keep it mildly believable. I'm something of a cowbell expert, and my discography includes playing bongos on the opening track of an album by a rather well known rock act, so I feel I can speak to this issue. Charlton Heston took over as the stiffest, squarest, got-no-soul man in show business with the passing of Lawrence Welk. I'm afraid he could not have laid down the tracks in question with a warm gun held to his cold, dead temple.

Ringo might be nothing more than a 'damned hairy ape' to a guy like Charlton, but I guarantee he could mop the studio floor with that Moishe imitator.
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

It was actually James Coburn who's gone on record as hating the Beatles-- Chuck was somewhat of a moptop himself back in his pre-Brinkley-infomercial heyday, after all. And while Charleton Testicle may or may not have played beatle bongos, the fact remains that Bill Bruford is the only person before or since who's had the cajones to play bongos through a wah wah pedal (Yes's "America")

Chuck hasn't made many public appearances lately. Hopefully the trend will continue.

Coburn, huh? I guess he changed his mind about The Beatles once he appeared on the cover of McCartney's "Band On The Run" album. :-)

Phil Spector is one of the top ten best producers in the past 45 years. It sounds like many of you weren't around during the wall of sound days to realize what a quantum leap his "sound" was compared to what else was going on at the time, his stuff sounded light years ahead of everything else, and most everyone else got their stuff from him. I also think LIB naked sounds just like it's name: naked, sounds like basic tracks waiting to be finished. It is a very interesting album and some of the stuff is great but I put on the Spector version when I want to hear the album. LIB happens to be one of my favorite Beatle albums. Very quirky and fun.

I'm sorry, but if Heston can part the Red Sea, he can bang the bongo's. Image
