I just received one of these today, and will be trying to capture the tone of my 4004 in the next few days. I am going to go direct at first to see what it sounds like. I can always mic the Nemesis, or bring home the SVT to mic if I don't like the direct sound. We'll see.
Where is a good place to upload? Jdog put up a file the other night that was easy to get, but I forgot what thread, and what the url was.
And yes, I seem to be the only one around tonight....
M-Audio Fastrack USB
Well, the jury returned, I don't like this unit, not because it's bad, but because I would need more software on the iMac, and Pro Tools comes with the Mini. I paid 99 bucks, plus shipping barely used, in the box, and I will let it go for 75 bucks and shipping to a forum member just to get someone else into recording!
If you have a pc this would be WONDERFUL! You would need Multitrack recording s/w, such as Sonar, Power Tracks, Cubase, etc. but it would be great! I now have an iMac, I don't understand Garage Band, and have no other s/w, sequencer, or otherwise. So...... I bit the bullet and bought an M-Box Mini! I am now in the process of getting Pro Tools up and running and then the fun will begin!!!!
I also received my Boss Micro BR digital 4 track recorder, so I should be covered. This baby will record ANYTHING! I wish I would have had it last year for the confl! I will bring my iMac (I have the protective bag to carry it, we use it in the rv. It looks rather cute all nicely protected in a bag like a laptop) and Mbox and we can cut a cd at the hotel!!!! Not that we would, but we could!!

Just fyi, I have an M-Audio Fastrack. (I have a Windows PC.) As Charley says, one needs multi-track sw for it.
M-Audio does have a GarageBand-like application called Session. Whether it is like GB I have no idea but I don't like Session. It is too sleek and automated if you know what I mean.
The Fastrack USB device is fine for what it does. It's just an input device. I found the volume level to be pretty low. (I actually posted a question about this here a million years ago.) I found going from an amp's Line Out (if it has one of course) or just micing an amp to be a much better solution. Especially if I'm playing with some gain or other effect. This way I also hear what I'm actually playing and what I want the sound to be like (or near like) in the end.
