Wanna See a Vintage 4001 in action??

Post by stts64 »

Hey, check this out. This is my very favorite band of my youth (early 70ties). Needless to say, look at the bass player.

I hate to bring bad news to you - as it were - but that's not a Rickenbacker. Take a closer look. Yeah, I know the tone is the real thing. I'm sure the bass player used a real Rick on the record the band are mimicking to, "Time Robber".
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Ibanez Ricky copy with a huge, weak single coil at the neck. I should know: I had one!

I bet you are right. I saw the real thing live and now when I think of it, it was a Fireglo.

When do you suppose those long flowing cape thingies will return to fashion?

I hope soon. I miss those things. Back in my "times of glory" I used to have stage clothes. It was more theatrical then I guess. Now you have a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and you are good to go.
