I was searching around today, and stumbled upon "LibraryThing" - I hit it because it won a Web2.0 award in the book category. Its here:
http://www.librarything.com/

Its free, you enter the books you like, and it gives you suggestions of other books you may like, based on what other people who have the same books as you are reading. I only played with it a little bit, but its pretty cool. I put "Electric Guitars: The Illustrated Encyclopedia" in my library, and found that there is an acoustic guitar version too - I never knew!

Check it out...

I have that acoustic encyclopedia; it's very well-written but only scratches the surface, as you would expect...
