That is what Fender Japan calls OCR - Old Candy apple Red - basically a darker shade of CAR.

When the link was posted in the FDP, Jeff Scott posted this reply: "Wait till you see the Rickenbacker I am expecting!"

That is so much nicer than todays CAR, maybe because it has a silver base coat, or should that be bass coat!
