What years was the 4003 BlueBoy Produced?

Post by stts64 »

I know it is kind of a limited production color, but I have been looking at some available resources and the more I look, the more confused I get. Mine is a 2006 March.

It is COY 2004, & orders were only accepted in 2004, but all those orders are honoured so production continued well after 2004
Blue Burst was COY 2005 but they are still making them to honour orders taken in 2005!
Why does it happen? Because it happens - Roll the Bones !!

They was also a small batch made prior to that,"for sale in Japan only". 2002 I think. I had one that was shipped back over here.

Turquoise was not a COY, but a standard production color available from 1991-2003, according to the color chart on the Rickenbacker Page (www.the-music-connection.com/ricinfo.htm), who in turn borrowed it from the Japanese Rittor book ("Rickenbacker: Pioneer of the Electric Guitar").

The official COYs were:
2000 Sea Green
2001 Desert Gold
2002 Burgundy
2003 Montezuma Brown
2004 Blue Boy and Montezuma Brown
2005 Blue Burst
2006 Amber Fireglo
2007 none
