Finally got pictures up
I finally got a camera and here are the pictures of my 1976 4001 model. I got it for $200, it's got some splitting up on the neck that has already been repaired and it needs some hardware. None of the places around here have rickenbacker parts on them so I have to order some before I can finish this.

for cropping and resizing, thanks I'm not sure how to do that. but if you can see in the picture I do have a neck pickup in the case. pretty much I need another just another pot, I'm not sure if it is the volume or tone, but I have two pots right now, and then also I need that horseshoe thing that goes over the bottom pickup and a pickguard. what do you guys think of that crack? And also would it be better to re-do the paint since it is old and cracky or is it better to just leave it vintage as it is?

Welcome to the forum. The parts you need can be purchased at the Rickenbacker website through their boutique, or from an authorized Rickenbacker dealer, such as Pick Of The Ricks.
As long as the crack repair is stable, and the neck is straight, you probably have no worries there. As far as refinishing, that's a personal choice. I would recommend that if you do go the way of refinishing, that you have either Dale_Fortune or Jingle_Jangle (Paul W.) do it, as they will make sure you get a factory type finish on the bass. Both are members of this forum.

Wow, Mike, these are the kind of deals that drive many of us crazy.
It's a win-win for you. You could sell it, as is, to one of us for more money. You could buy the missing parts and sell it for a lot more money. Or (and this is what most of us would do) you can keep it forever and have a most excellent bass for a ridiculously low buy.
Nice grab!
