Yipee!! I'm getting an AFG.
Wade's Guitar Shop actually got two 4003 AFGs, not just one. Jerry Grinkmeyer (Grink) got one of them. I'm picking up the other Saturday morning. Alex was nice enough to let me transfer my deposite from my JG order to their AFG. (the extra $80 was MORE than worth it)
I'll post photos ASAP. To tell you the truth, though, photos just don't do the amber tint on the binding and fret markers justice. When I saw the bass on display, I fell instantly in love. It's absolutely gorgeous!!!
It's not going to be a closet case queen. Rare or not, this baby will get played. I'm staying away from the cymbals though.

I changed my mind folks. I decided to wait for the JG.
Anybody looking for a very nice Amber Fireglo 4003, call Alex at Wade's Guitar Shop. I owe them big for putting up with my indecision. Those guys are world class!

Yes.
Yes I did.
Number eight in the current Rick fleet. I'm getting close to having a complete collection of COYs, and am now having regrets of selling the DG I had over the New Year. If I'd kept it, I'd be short only a Blue Boy and a 2002 Burgundy. I'm still waiting for my BlueBurst Cii.
The Amber Fireglo is pretty, and has the attractive quality of looking old, but being brand new without "mojo" -- no battle damage. Imagine a Rick from the '60s that ambered but was never touched.
Photos tomorrow (probably).
