4003 S5 Price Check

Post by tsarter »

Can someone tell me what a 4003 S5 would generally go for?

Thanks,

Tim: I have seens the 4003/S5 and 4003/S8 going for approximately $1200 to 1400 US. Perhaps John Williams may have a better idea. You might try posting this under the Rickenbacker Appraisals topic to get his attention.

Thanks Peter. I will do that. I suppose E-bay might be a good place to look too, although I don't believe they turn up too often there.

There is one on eBay right now with the current bid at 1000 US. Let's see what it fetches. Good luck Tim.

I saw that right after my last post. It had not yet been purchased ($1000 BIN), but I really do not have the money right now so I did not go for it. Looked nice though, and the price seemed right!

I have 2 4003s5's ... my 1989 white with black trim had a BIN of around $700 back about 2 years ago ... my 1990 MB with black trim was more in the $1100 range ... both of those needed some work before playing ... I have seen them go for as much as $1300 .. $1400 ... $1500 ...

So price would depend on year and condition and color ...

that's 2 that sold with a $1000 BIN ... both would have sold for more if the auction ran out longer without a BIN ...

There was one Fireglo 4003S/5 that was on ebay in July that I think went for close to $1,700 I thought was ridiculous, and a Turquoise one that went for about $1250.
Patience scored me one for $1000 this week, which I think is a fair selling price for this bass guitar in nice condition.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)
