So that's what an azureglo should look like! If my '82 had held up as well, I would not be refinishing it. But mine & Mike's look like two completely different guitars. My old high school buddy still has his '75 AZ and it looks fantastic, too. My '82 won't have the blues much longer...

Yes it will, Jeff, along with the 1967 FG 4005, which you were so kind to properly set up for me.

It looks much better now! I searched for a plating company that was not in danger of being shut down by the EPA and would do small batches. The one I found removed the old chrome and prepared the metal for replating. They did 4 tailpieces 4 strap buttons and some other small hardware for $150. Such a deal.

John - It was made in July 1972 #605. Is this a cousin of your two?

I know it could be the photos but I have to agree about the colour of this bass, it looks fantastic, and that's what I want to try and duplicate on my project bass.

My old 76 has kind of "greened-off" a little bit; there's a patch on the back where the "clear" (I use the term loosely) lacquer has come off which shows the blue paint as it originally was and it's quite vibrant and very "blue"; much more like this bass looks.
