The butterfly farm was another cool highlight...for anyone who hasn't ever been to one of these things (like me) it's great fun. I walked in there expecting to see some little areas of butterflies but the entire thing was like stepping into a WWII dogfight of butterflies...they were flying all around you, landing on you, chasing each other...it was great!

The weather was really great and I was in shorts for the weekend and getting some sun. I'm off now to a little boat ride on the Thames and to check out Greenwich....as always, more to follow!

It is good to be Alisha!!!
May you always work like you don't need money;
May you always love like you've never been hurt;
and may you always dance like there's nobody watching.

And without this forum and all the great people here, we wouldn't have had the pleasure of,(a)being fortunate to be part of Alisha's adventure and, (b)watching from afar the rest of this amazing holiday!

Alisha, who else but a Systems Engineer from Boeing would describe that experience as a "dogfight?" I love it!

John Hall Way - ya gotta love it - how appropos!

I've been to a butterfly exhibit at the Smithsonian where you walk through the very large room they are in and it is truly a wonderous experience.

Enjoy Alisha!

. . . the John Hall in question most likely one of those British politicos for which streets are usually named. Could be the footballer or the preachers too, I guess.

I've been to butterfly farms in both Honduras and Costa Rica. Given that both are Spanish speaking countries, and that "mariposa" as a slang word has created some linguistic confusion, getting directions in both cases proved to be interesting! Not a problem in the U.K., to be sure.

Yes, whatever you do, in Latin America don't ask for directions to the "la finca de las mariposas" or "la granja de las mariposas" unless you're looking for a good time or a possible beating. Fortunately my wife was with me both times which saved me from both experiences.
