Hmmm,

It's up to US $1,152.88 and STILL has 5 days to go!

No one here would dare to actually do that to a Tuxedo, but since someone else already did, it takes all the guilt out of owning this bass. I predict it'll go to $1700.00+.

Yes...The reason maple is used under paint is because of the tight grain it has. You can't get a good finish painting over an open grained wood such as rosewood, bubinga etc.

I believe that I've seen one other Tuxedo like this (or it's the same bass).

It looks better stripped than with the white faded to bananaglo.

I think it's a little *too" maple-y looking. But if the body and headstock were, say, Jetglo, and the maple fretboard was left as is, that would be too cool!

I'd like to see a maple fretboard with standard triangle inlays.

I wonder why they abandoned the maple fretboard on the 4004's? I really liked that.

Some of the copy 4001's had maple fretboards with black or pearl inlays so I think if RIC had done it, it would have looked like a copy.

And the look of them always makes me shudder, so I'm not hot to see the triangle inlays on maple on a Rick. Black dots look really good on the maple necks.

Look how the big black rectangles on a Geddy Jazz look. Too much for me.
