Talking about burglaries.....in '96, my house was burglarized. They took my first Rick, a Susannah Hoffs, but decided that they didn't want it and took a $175. shotgun instead. Yippee! Dumbasses! They used it to shoot up a nearby neighborhood. Ages of the burglars? 19 - 15. They were from decent neighborhoods too. Bored sh!ts really.

BTW, the other things they stole.....video games, BEATLE BOOTLEGS(!), jewelry, etc... I bought an alarm right after that. Can't sleep without one. OK, rant over.

Burglars broke into my house, took out my 4005 but left it on the couch. Took a Baume & Mercier watch, a Ferrari watch (that's ok, it was always fast, nyuk nyuk), a Framus red metal flake acoustic guitar, and a gun.

They found the gun later on a 15 year old gang banger.

Got a dog after that. Can't sleep without one. Wait, that sounds wrong...

My laptop wallpaper is a photo of a 360-12 (1966) that was auctioned on Ebay. The auction included the original shipping box and all case candy, the guitar had not been played and was as new condition. I still look at that pic and think why did I not bid. I think the guitar sold for around $6800.00, CHEAP I think given the condition. Does anyone else remember this guitar?

A few years ago I had a gorgeous, mint 4001v63 MG in my house to check out for the weekend. Beautiful wood grain, rich, dark fretboard, just stunning. All of the paperwork, hang-tags, etc. included. The seller only wanted $1k.

I passed...

Allan, I wonder if that auction was one of the many NOS Ricks that were found buried in a back room when an old music store went out of business. I remember reading something about that nearly 2 years ago.

John Allgaier: I think that is exactly the auction I was speaking of. I could kick myself when I think of it, you just do not find these instruments in true untouched condition anymore.

Yeah, Alan, talk about time travel. Vintage Ricks still in the unopened factory boxes - IIRC there were several found. Anyone else remember this??
