A classic from Decca in 1962 after turning down The Beatles.
"Guitar groups are on the way out."
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

"A Strat was a thing of wonder .. when I was 14 or 15, the Shadows were a big influence, and they had the first Strats that came to England. I like to play all kinds of guitars, but I wasn't getting the sound I really wanted until I got a Stratocaster" - Mark Knopfler - Guitar - Dire Straits

So why is he playing a Gibson and other guitars on stage these day? Image Let's get the man a Rickenbacker.

Not sure if that counts, but i like that quote from an interview with the Searchers in 1966. Says John McNally: "I'm not really worried. I was happy at my job as a semi-skilled engineer, and although I'd like a business of my own some day, I don't care if I end up back at my old job, because I was happy in that."
BTW, i'd easily give my Ric as a present to Mark Knopfler, i'm sure he'd make better use of it than i, and that'd be a great honor for me, too. Image
