Single Coil or Toaster?
What's the dif and what do you prefer?

The modern single coil is much hotter than the toaster. As far as preference, I like them both equally. Keep in mind, it all depends on what sound you would want to achieve. Are you looking for a thunderous boom ala 4003? Install two single coils. Is the 4003 a little too boomy for your taste? Install a toaster in the neck position to mellow the sound. I am refering to the modern pickups of course. The vintage pickups ala 4001 are not as hot as the modern ones. They have more treble bite to them, even with the cap removed. I know this is a little off the subject, but I really like the HB-1's! I put them in my 4001FL, no regrets! I can always find another 4001 on e-bay. Finding a Cheyenne is a different story...
Right you are Dave. And slightly on topic John Fogerty added a non-RIC humbucker in his 325. I am wondering if this would present a problem for a special editon model, should it ever come to be. Surely the ACME nameplate would be over the top.

Perhaps John Fogerty's 1969 Model 325 could have been a left over export Model 1996 with a Bigsby added. I would love to see the serial number on this one. In any event here it is.
