Screws on a Kaufmann Vibrola

Post by dr_bob »

Should the tips of either of the two screws that hold the arm in place on a Kaufmann vibrola touch the guitar itself?

Here's a picture of my 375. It appears that the treble side screw (I have I tried to draw an arrow pointing to it) may be touching or even partially screwed into the face of the guitar. Should it be?

Nope. These are commonly ground off if they protrude too far. Perhaps a previous owner was trying to immobilize the Kauffman in this crude way?
