And after all of this, the R tailpiece remains intact. Someone may offer him $300 for parts.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Wonder if he'll accept a trade with an anger management book.

I bid a few times and was instantly outbid...

I was looking for some cheap pick-ups, nameplate, and just maybe some wall art.

Cheers, Noel

Lets see...what would stop someone who owns a 1998 FG from buying this guitar for $600. and then switching nameplate and jackplate? Voila! The apparent value goes from $1000. to $2500. - 3000.+ !!

I wish that he would post the serial number and production number so that very thing doesn't happen.

Boy, do I feel bad. I just told someone that $900 for a damaged (i.e. chipped) 360v64 was a rip-off. The current bid on this totally decimated Ric is a staggering $610! I better go back and re-assess.

No, I don't think you need to re-assess. This auction really has nothing to do with the value of a 360v64.

Pick of the Ricks sold a 1998PT for $4250 not too long ago. As John Williams explained above, this is a likely candidate for someone with bad intentions.

It sold for $761 to someone I know (and who has contributed to the forum, if I remember correctly), and I don't think he has evil intentions. I bid on it myself and my plan was to use it as a gag display (like in front of a poster of PT smashing a RIC).

For archival purposes, I am posting this update to its reappearance on eBay (minus many of its parts) and the subsequent commentary on the Forum:
