4005 (1966) on UK ebay (Fake Listing...I'm S

Post by olegunnar32 »

I'm sure this was on US ebay a month or so back. Please let me know if you remember this, as I'm sure this is a fake listing. The 0 feedback gives it away really, and the fact that I believe he has tried it before with another 4005 sold on US ebay. He then copied the listing and pics practically word for word and tried selling it in UK. It was promptly removed but this one hasn't.

Definitely fake. I remember the real auction too, we discussed what that leather piece on the back might have hidden....

Love fake listings. You usually win at a lower price than normal...cool...

It's the getting the item part that seems to be a bummer...I know, pay with counterfeit money or a stolen credit card...

Yes indeed, and as per Marc's comments the 'seller' has already contacted me with this actual sentence "I want to sell it faster and i want to find a buyer immediately. You don`t have to bid and win the auction so you can buy it....if you are really interested i reserve the right to end the auction and make the transaction with you". He wants £1,200 for it.
I think I'll toy with him for a bit just so no one actually gets scammed. Does anybody have the address where I can report him to ebay, you dont seem to get a decent response from the normal ebay email channels?

There will be a winner in this auction who will get scammed. I smell it. Too bad......

Unless someone puts in a bid for $10,000,000 and attracts eBay's attention.

I don't have an account, so not me. I based that suggestion on another scam where everyone bid it up to a ridiculous level and it was pulled.
